The aviation flying personnel training and qualification improvement centre Baltic Aviation Academy, part of the Lithuanian aviation business group Avia Solutions Group, expands its capability list and plans to assemble another full flight simulator in its premises in Vilnius.
A decision concerning the type of simulator will be taken after completion of the market research to find out the most popular aircraft types as well as demand for such training in the region. Currently, the options of arranging ATR-42 and Boeing 757-200 are being actively discussed.
“Our Boeing 737-300/400/500 full flight simulator is being successfully used for type rating courses for pilots of various airline companies. By closely monitoring processes in the Eastern Europe and neighbouring countries, we plan to offer our clients more type rating courses with full flight simulators in Vilnius. With our high qualified personnel and deep training traditions we have aim to become the strongest training centre for aviation flying personnel in the Eastern Europe,” sets the company’s plans Lina Rutkauskienė, CEO of the Baltic Aviation Academy.
Currently the Academy provides type rating courses for seven aircraft types. However, only the Boeing 737-300/400/500 aircraft pilots are able to undergo their practical training in Vilnius.
According to L. Rutkauskienė, the demand for the pilots’ training at the company’s target market has a tendency to grow.
