Aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Lithuania) expanded its capability list by adding Embraer 170/190 type rating training courses. The aviation training centre became the first approved type rating training organization (TRTO) in the Baltic region to start training program for Embraer 170/190 E-Jets aircraft family.
On October 11th, 2011, the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration has issued to the Baltic Aviation Academy an approval certificate to operate the type rating training for Embraer 170 (ERJ-170), Embraer 175 (ERJ-175) and Embraer 190 (ERJ-190) types of aircrafts. The ground training courses will be organized at Baltic Aviation Academy facilities in Vilnius. Flight training will be carried out on Embraer Full Flight Simulators (FFS) in Zurich, Switzerland (ERJ-190); Amsterdam, Netherlands (ERJ-170/190) and Helsinki, Finland (ERJ-175). To provide practical trainings the company introduced professional type rating instructors from Serbia and Italy.
“Embraer SA, the world’s fourth-largest aircraft manufacturer, forecasts their demand for 2012 will be in line or better than of 2011. Differently than rival Bombardier acted in September, there are no plans to cut the production. Embraer managed to withstand the economic downturn, as the American and European carriers choose their regional jets to renew their aged fleets. Introducing Embraer E-Jets family type rating training will help BAA in Western and Central European markets, such as Italy and Poland”, comments Egle Vaitkeviciute, Chief Executive Officer of Baltic Aviation Academy.
Embraer 170/190 type rating training courses are listed at number 44 in the company’s training programs list. The expansion program for 2010-2011 introduced aviation training courses for the most popular types of aircrafts in the market and more than doubled companies training programs offered from 18 programs operated in December 2009.
The Embraer E-Jets are a series of narrow-body, twin-engine, medium-range jet airlines produced by Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace company. The Embraer 170/190 family consists of four aircrafts designed for the 70 to 120 seat capacity segment. Four ERJ-170/190 jets “tap the gap” between larger mainline aircraft and smaller regional jets. Embraer SA reported that 800 units had been delivered by September, 2011, and predicted that more than 1,100 units will be delivered by the end of 2016.
In addition to Embraer 170/190 type rating training program, Baltic Aviation Academy provides training courses for Boeing 737 CL, Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, Saab 340/2000, Airbus A320, ATR 42-72, Embraer 135/145, Bombardier CRJ 100/200, Bombardier CRJ 700/900 types of aircrafts and the initial pilot training school (FTO) courses.
