Avion Express Brasil, a fully owned subsidiary of Avion Express and part of Avia Solutions Group, has successfully obtained its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). This milestone marks the official launch of the first dedicated ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) operator in Brazil, further strengthening Avion Express’s position as a global leader in ACMI solutions.
With AOC approval in place, Avion Express Brasil is set to commence commercial operations in Q1 2025, deploying up to 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft by the end of the year. The company plans to scale its fleet to 25 aircraft by 2027/2028 to address the growing demand for efficient capacity solutions in Latin America.
Strategic Expansion in Latin America
Avion Express has long recognized the potential of Latin America as a key growth market. The company has successfully established a long-term partnership in Mexico and recently started operations in Argentina. Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express, says that Brazil, one of the largest aviation markets in the region, represents a natural and strategic next step in this expansion:
“Avion Express Brasil AOC represents a significant step forward for ACMI solutions, as it opens up a new market and introduces innovative solutions for capacity management to airlines. We are deeply grateful to ANAC for recognizing the value of this expansion and for supporting it. With the aviation industry experiencing cyclical demand shifts, our ACMI solutions will provide to Brazilian airlines the flexibility they need to optimize their operations. We are confident that our services will help bridge capacity gaps while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.”
Addressing Seasonal Demand Challenges
The ACMI business model is designed to help airlines manage seasonal fluctuations and operational challenges. Seasonal changes and varying passenger numbers are key factors which highlight the value and efficiency of ACMI solutions.
“ACMI solutions are strategically designed to address the demands of peak travel seasons, allowing airlines to add or remove aircraft from their fleets as needed, providing the flexibility to adapt to market fluctuations and seasonality,” emphasized Esteban Jauregui Lorda, CEO of Avion Express Brasil.
"Looking ahead to 2025, Brazil’s tourism and aviation sectors are expected to keep growing. Supported by investment from Avia Solutions Group, Avion Express Brasil is ready to meet the needs of airlines. With our AOC secured, we are poised to provide Brazilian airlines with reliable and cost-effective capacity solutions, helping them manage both peak demand and market shifts seamlessly.”, – adds CEO of Avion Express Brasil.
