Strategic Leadership at Avia Solutions Group

Zilvinas Lapinskas has more than 25 years’ experience across aviation, aircraft maintenance, commercial leadership, facilities management, international business development and Lean implementation.

Ahead of becoming CEO, leading Avia Solutions Group (Dublin), he held the role of Chief Executive Officer at FL Technics, a global aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider and part of Avia Solutions Group. Since taking the helm in 2013, he has led the company through significant international growth, expanding its base and line maintenance capabilities, Asset management, Wheels and Brakes, spare part business, global support network, and specialist services across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Americas, and other key aviation markets.

Prior to joining FL Technics, Zilvinas held senior commercial and management roles at City Service, an OMX-listed company, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Facilities Management before becoming CEO in 2004. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from V. A. Graiciunas School of Management, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Business Institute (USA).

AJ Abedin has more than 20 years’ experience across aerospace, aviation finance, aircraft leasing, capital markets, and global commercial operations. Prior to joining Avia Solutions Group Global, he held senior leadership roles at Air Lease Corporation, where he helped drive the company’s global expansion, supporting more than $12 billion in financing and the growth of its aircraft financing and airline credit platforms.

At Air Lease, AJ served as Treasurer and later as Senior Vice President, Commercial, leading work across debt capital markets, liquidity management, investor relations, aircraft placements, leasing transactions, account management, and commercial strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked in J.P. Morgan’s Diversified Industries Investment Banking Group and in aerospace engineering at Curtiss-Wright. AJ holds an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Northridge.
