The aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Vilnius, Lithuania) has launched a new distant learning course aimed at further developing and maintening pilot qualification remotely via the Internet. The e-Learning program approval has been issued by the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration. The online training course consists of 15 type rating training programs including Airbus A320, Airbus A330, Airbus A340, Boeing B737 CL, Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 747, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, ERJ-145, ERJ-170, ERJ-190.
All e-Learning courses at Baltic Aviation Academy comprise a learning management program, a generated examination system and a number of online libraries. Furthermore, in case of any trouble, follow up questions or other professional issues, an online student has an opportunity to contact and consult an assigned tutor via telephone, e-mail or an instant messenger. The standard time for self-study program is 5 days which correspond to 40% of a standard ground course.
’The exceptionally challenging economic times have naturally driven the global demand towards lowering operational costs and raising productivity. An officially approved and periodically updated distant study programme provides extra value by reducing expenses related to travelling and accomodation. Furthermore, pilots are free to access the information for continuous training without spending time away from their daily bases. As regards the online courseware, we are committed to continuous improvement and expansion aimed at satisfying the demand of our clients. Our major objective is to offer an increasingly better value and an opportunity to study in a most efficient and effective way possible‘, commented the CEO of Baltic Aviation Academy Egle Vaitkeviciute.
The distant learning system is a part of an online client service project „My BAA“ aimed at providing the Baltic Aviation Academy corporate and self-sponsored clients with active training solutions and flexible schedules. The academy‘s clients will also be able to track their orders and take part in the activities organized by the academic community, including graduates, potencial employers and training instructors. The first public version of „My BAA“ online client service system is to be released in December, 2011.
The e-Learning courses can be accessed by registering via e-mail [email protected] and logging on to the intranet on the academy’s website www.balticaa.com.
