On the 1st of July, 2011 Baltic Ground Services PL started providing Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA with into-plane fuelling services at the John Paul II International Airport in Krakow. According to the agreement, BGS is to service 14 weekly flights to Norway and Denmark.
‘We are rapidly expanding our customer base at Krakow Airport. The launch of fuelling services in the airport is part of an ongoing plan to attract new customers whose numbers have recently increased due to the general growth in the aviation industry’, - stated Saulius Batavicius, the CEO of Baltic Ground Services.
According to the number of passengers carried the John Paul II International is the second largest airport in Poland after Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport. The airport in Krakow services approx. 14% of the entire passenger flow in Poland. In 2010 the John Paul II International Airport provided services for 2.86 million passengers and handled almost 33 thousand flights.
BGS is fully licensed to provide ground handling services in 6 Polish airports in Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan.
