FL Technics, a global provider of integrated aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, has further extended its list of capabilities by receiving a Design Organization Approval (Part 21, Section A, Subpart J) from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Under the certificate the company is now fully authorized to design and approve minor changes and minor repairs to aircraft in the area of cabin interior and associated changes to avionics and structures.
The newly obtained certificate allows company to complete minor design and modification tasks in-house. Design modifications mainly relate to the changes in cabin layouts, interior furnishing installations, galley installations and repairs, in-flight entertainment associated reconfigurations and system improvements.
‘An individually designed aircraft interior is becoming an integral part of the service package modern airlines have grown to expect from their providers and maintenance partners. The Part 21 approval allows us to offer a significantly larger number of services using our own in-house capabilities. In addition to the extensive list of engineering services, FL Technics is now officially able to provide aircraft design solutions compliant with the highest industry requirements, approved by the major aviation regulative institution in Europe,’ says FL Technics CEO Jonas Butautis.
FL Technics holds all the EASA certificates required for integrated narrow and wide body aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services: EASA Part 145 (Maintenance Organisation Approval), EASA Part 147 (Maintenance Training and Examination Organisation Approval), EASA Part M (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation Approval) and the newly obtained Part 21 (Design Organisation Approval).
