Avia Solutions Group, a WSE listed global provider of one-stop-shop aviation business solutions, has presented the project of the Kaunas Aviation Park to the members of the Lithuanian Government, including the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Education and Science, the Deputy Minister of Economy, as well as to the representatives of the Kaunas District administration, management of Kaunas International Airport and others.
The aim of the project is to promote Lithuanian business, as well as to develop its capabilities and presence globally. “As a platform for integrated aviation services, the cluster would promote investments into Lithuanian economy, cooperation between different representatives of both local and global businesses, contribute to increased competitiveness of Lithuanian companies as well as provide the Lithuanian aviation industry with highly-qualified and needed HR resources”, comments Daumantas Lapinskas, Deputy CEO at Avia Solutions Group.
Following the presentation, the members of the Lithuanian Government have expressed their support and willingness to explore various solutions to provide financial support for the development of the Kaunas Aviation Park.
“While supervising the entire professional education, the Ministry of Education and Science comes to the project with a school of mechanics. We have clearly stated how we can support [the project] – we may provide finance the training of students as well as training equipment, and maybe we will be able to participate in the development of the infrastructure”, shared Dainius Pavalkis, the Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science.
According to Rimantas Sinkevicius, the Lithuanian Minister of Transport, there already is a detailed plan for the project to provide additional taxiway and apron for maintenance services. “The plan is approved, we have all the approvals for the start of constructions.”
The Kaunas Aviation Park is scheduled to be launched in 2016.
