KlasJet, a well-known exclusive private and corporate jet charter company and part of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, will lease a 737 to Congo Airways on a six-month contract from November until the end of April 2025.
"We are pleased to have our 737 used to restore the DRC flag carrier to operational status," said Augustinas Riskus, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer at KlasJet. "The six-month deployment of the aircraft is the ideal length for an ACMI contract and serves as a perfect tool for the airline's recovery."
Congo Airways previously partnered with KlasJet for a four-month contract in 2023. The airline had operated two Airbus A320s, which have remained grounded for engine maintenance. The 737 involved in this partnership will operate domestic flights within Congo, based at Kinshasa Ndjili International Airport (FIH).
"This is a reliable and cost-effective strategy for the airline right now, as the ACMI aircraft will provide additional capacity with less overhead than alternative options for fleet expansion," said Riskus. "Congo Airways is well-established within its market and is poised to recover using our crew, aircraft, and our experience in delivering dependable service."
KlasJet is part of the Avia Solutions Group family, the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, with a fleet of 214 aircraft.
