An international ground handling services provider Baltic Ground Services (BGS) continues to implement its geographic expansion plans – from the 19th of July 2012, the company will be providing fuelling services at Palanga International airport. Earlier this year the company was awarded the contract of the state enterprise Palanga International Airport on the lease of aircraft fuelling facilities at Palanga International airport and acquired the right to use the 325 cubic meters fuel base for the period of five years.
‘This contractenables us to further increase our technical capabilities and we will continue to implement our strategy of geographical expansion as regards both the scope of operations and our fuel logistics infrastructure. The latter is exceptionally significant in order to ensure that the expansion is consistent and sustainable. Having consolidated our position in the aviation ground handling services market in the coastal area of Lithuania, we are currently considering the development opportunities in Riga and Kaunas airports,’ said the CEO of Baltic Ground Services Saulius Batavičius.
According to the contract with the Palanga International Airport, Baltic Ground Services will not only supply aircraft with aviation fuel, but also ensure uninterrupted fuel logistics in Palanga airport fuel base from Vilnius International airport fuel base. In order to ensure the highest class of ground-based aviation services, the company will also continue to control the quality of fuel deliveries.
