FL Technics (Lithuania), leading aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider in Eastern Europe, extended its capabilities by adding Boeing 737 Next-Generation.
The first two 737 NG customer aircraft have already arrived at FL Technics facility and work has commenced on their maintenance.
"We have prepared the necessary technical base, trained our personnel and received all necessary certificates to accept Boeing 737 NG aircraft in our main base in Vilnius and in our Line stations worldwide. This will provide FL Technics with a strong competitive advantage in the Eastern European region, since quite a number of airlines decided to switch to this type of aircraft. The amount of this aircraft is likely to increase in both CIS countries and EU flight market. Therefore, offering a high service quality and competitive price, it will make us a serious competitor of the other EU maintenance providers", says Jonas Butautis, Chief Executive Officer at FL Technics.
According to him, the Lithuanian company has extended it\`s EASA Part 145, Part 147 and Part M certificates and offers total technical and engineering support, as well as maintenance training services for Boeing 737 NG.
The Company invested about LTL 2.5 million (US$ 1 million) into the equipment and training.
According to Jonas Butautis, FL Technics has a broad experience in serving Boeing 737 and were the first to take up Boeing 737 Classic in the Baltic States and in post-Soviet area.
In 2010 FL Technics is planning to extend its EASA Part 145, Part 147 and Part M activities with Airbus 320 and ATR 42/72 aircraft types. This will allow the Lithuanian MRO to service most operators based within 1000-1500 km radius.
FL Technics currently services Boeing 737, Boeing 757, SAAB 2000, and SAAB 340 type aircraft.
