Aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Lithuania) expanded its capability list by adding Boeing 777 type rating training courses. The aviation training centre became the first approved type rating training organization (TRTO) in the Baltic region to start training program for Boeing 777 type of aircraft.
On June 23rd, 2011, the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration has issued to the Baltic Aviation Academy an approval certificate to operate the type rating training for Boeing 777 family aircraft (B777). The ground training courses will be organized at Baltic Aviation Academy facilities in Vilnius. Flight training will be carried out on B777 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) in Rome, Italy. To provide practical trainings the company signed cooperation agreements with professional type rating instructors from Great Britain.

On March, 2011 Boeing announced to return its Boeing 777 production rate to seven aircraft per month after dropping down to a rate of five aircraft per month following the global economic crisis. Via corporate Twitter account, Boeing also noted to be on its way to a planned increase to 8.3 a month in the first quarter of 2013, as planned.
Boeing 777 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner. Seating over 300 passengers it is the world's largest twinjet. Commonly referred to the "Triple Seven”, the 777 was designed to replace older wide-body airliners and bridge the capacity difference between the 767 and 747. Through the 2000s, Boeing 777 has become one of Boeing Commercial Airplanes best-selling models, being operated by United Airlines, Air France, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Air India and other airlines.
In addition to Boeing 777 type rating training program, Baltic Aviation Academy offers 35 training programs, including type rating training courses for Boeing 737 CL, Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Saab 340/2000, Airbus A320, ATR 42-72, Embraer 135/145, Bombardier CRJ 100/200, Bombardier CRJ 700/900 aircrafts and the initial pilot training school (FTO) courses.
